Hi Folks: Just a reminder...there will be no qigong on Monday at the Vet's hall on Memorial Day (5/25) or the following Monday (6/1).  There will be no class on Monday 6/22 due to Dr. Hu's workshop in Ashland. 

Dennis be will teaching my Monday Vet's Hall classes on 6/8, 6/15 & 6/29 and also this Thursday (5/21) at Vipassana Santa Cruz.

Marcy will NOT be teaching her Thursday evening class on April 9th at Vipassana Santa Cruz. The regular Thursday evening class will resume the following week.

Marcy has a new Mindful Qigong class on Wednesday evenings in Mountain View. There is a free intoductory class on March 18th. See her class schedule (near the end) for more details.

Marcy has a new Monday afternoon class beginning in Corralitos and Dennis has a new Tuesday evening class beginning in Aptos.

The dates for Dr Hu's upcoming Ashland Workshop have been corrected. The actual dates are June 18 - 22.

Marcy’s holiday schedule: Marcy will be teaching class up to and including Tuesday, Dec. 23.  There will be no classes from Dec. 24-Jan. 7.  Happy Holidays!

Marcy will be returning to the area to teach starting Monday, August 18th.
In addition to her ongoing classes on Monday nights at the Vet's Hall, Tuesday mornings at Skyland Church, and Thursday evening at Vipassana Santa Cruz, here are some new classes that Marcy will be offering this fall:

At Vipassana Santa Cruz:
Marcy will be leading an all-day practice session on Sunday, August 31, 2008 from 9:30-4:30 called, "Qigong and Vipassana: A Day of Mindful Movement and Stillness".  This day will weave together alternating strands of silent & guided meditation, and gentle qigong movements with just enough group discussion to help identify and ground the experience. It will be a day of self-discovery as we deepen our practice of mindfulness of the body and open to embracing whatever we find there. All abilities and practice levels are welcome. This may be an especially good practice opportunity for those wanting to try a day-long, but who are concerned about not being able to sit for long periods. At the new Chi Center on Portola Ave., Santa Cruz:
Marcy will offer 6-week introductory course which will highlight the unique attributes of Wild Goose Qigong that distinguish it from other well known qigong sets, such as Taiji, Chi-lel, and Bone Marrow Washing.  Through movement and awareness we will play with qi, Wild Goose style, exploring the effect of the movements on body, mind and heart.  Those who attend all 6 sessions will also learn a short Qigong set called Wild Goose III (Kunlun Bagua Qigong) well enough to practice it at home.  Please contact the Chi Center directly for pricing information at: www.santacruzintegrativemedicine.net

At the Los Gatos Rec. Dept.:
The first fall session runs from 9/6-9/27 on Saturday mornings and will include two parts --the first class will meet from 9:00am-10:00am and will include a variety of short forms to get the qi moving and support a healthy entry into autumn.  The second, shorter class will meet from 10:15am-10:45am.  This class is for those interested in exploring some longer forms within the Wild Goose (Dayan Qigong) system.  Both classes are open to beginning through advanced students --everyone is welcome!  If you plan to attend the Wild Goose class, we ask that you either enroll in the first class concurrently or make sure that you have done some qigong practice on your own beforehand and come with a sense of openness and flow already established.  Both of these classes will continue in a second session from 10/11-11/15.  Please see: www.lgsrecreation.org for pricing information.

At Spencer fitness in Corralitos:
Marcy will offer a 6-week session from 9/8-10/13 from 4:00-5:15pm on Mondays.  This class will focus on short forms that are easy to follow so that participants can simply relax into breath and body and enjoy the sensations of qi.  The cost is $75 for the series or $14.00 per class to drop-in. 

Because Dennis will be away at Dr. Hu's Ojai retreat, there will be no Monday night Qigong class at the Vets Hall on 6/23 and no Tuesday class at Ocean View Park on 6/24.

Marcy will be out of the area from June 3-Mid-August.  Many of her classes will continue over the summer, some as student-led practice groups, and others led by Dennis Jackson.  Please see individual class listings for details.

Dennis will not be holding class Tuesday, March 25 at Ocean View Park this coming week. His class will resume the following Tuesday, April 1.

Due to retreat center availability, the dates for Dr. Hu's Ojai retreat have slightly changed.  The retreat will now be held June 22-26, 2008.  The sessions will run from 10am-5pm each day. Click here for more info.

Marcy's Thursday Qigong class at Vipassana Santa Cruz will not be held on December 6th due to the Vipassana Santa Cruz holiday potluck.

Marcy's following November classes will not be held:

Marcy's next three week class series in Corralitos begins December 3rd.
