Dr. Hu's workshop this Saturday (Jan 27th) is on “Sensory- Motor Awareness”. Here's some information about it... What is “Sensory-Motor Awareness”? Simply speaking, we are going to show you the basic technique of how to feel the qi, which is ever-moving inside our body. There are many ways to cultivate our sensitivity to qi. But from my own life-long experience, I consider the training of “sensory-motor awareness” the number one priority in building a solid foundation to be able to sense the qi-flow in our own body and in our patient’s body. The reasons are as follows: 1) It’s a fact that qi is ever-moving inside our meridians, and the location of everyone’s main meridian is the same. 2) It’s also a fact that physical movements, and especially the circular movements used in Wild Goose Qigong can influence the direction of our qi-flow, making the tracing of the “qi movement in lines” even easier. In this workshop, we’re first going to explain the inter-relationship of sensory-motor awareness, relaxation in motion, and the flowing of qi. Then, we’re going to practice 7 exercises for cultivating our sensory-motor awareness. 1) Practice: “Tracing the 6 Hand-related Meridians” Qigong; |
